Saturday morning I took Banjo for a walk through Skeleton Park and ran into Ze, Peter and Roscoe on their way home from the market. Peter and Roscoe continued home while Ze joined me in seeing developments at the house. The south wall and the chimney are coming up quickly. Banjo does not like going inside so he watched things go by on the front porch while Ze and I wandered indoors. Ma and Pa are going to have sufficient storage space in the kitchen by the looks of it! There is a climate and ventilation control at the beginning of the hallway to the bedrooms.

They are really focusing on the stone walls now.
A sample of the wood flooring.

North wall is completed! It makes it easier to photograph now that they removed the scaffolds. They are progressing well with the front too.
Most of the trim is painted and is stacked in the kitchen/family room. Pink insolation and plastic line the basement walls and the staircase.

Wow! Busy, busy, busy! I handed in my first assignment today. I think I’ll get a good mark on it.

The drug my dentist once prescribed me for a sore jaw was pulled off the market today by it’s manufacturer because it was found to cause heart attacks and strokes. (Vioxx, just like aspirin, but costs $4 per pill). I only took it for a short time, and infrequently, so I’m sure I’m okay.

I’ll post some pictures this weekend.

On this occasion Ma and Pa dropped by at the same time and I got to introduce them to a friendly neighbor, Melody. I came by the night before when the first coat was still wet, but it was too dark to take photos. What a difference! Ma went through the inside with me, while Pa installed more security for the shed. We were excited to see the trimming painted or piled in the house and admired the workmanship on the outside northern wall. I was wondering what the skid of red brick was for, until I climbed up onto the scaffolding .
Monday the oak staircase was put in and the first working light bulbs appeared on the ground floor!

By the end of the week the stone wall was being built on the west side. Free lance landscapers came by to clear away some brush. Banjo was very happy to see them. Unfortunately someone broke into the shed and stole the grass hog trimmer and extension cords that I bought.

They did the stucco ceiling in the house this week. Michael took a few great photos that shows the texture.
The north wall is coming up steadily. There is an interesting device that they use to cut the stone.

I made three more catch-up posts. See August 28th, September 4th, and September 14th. Also look at August 14th if you missed that one last week. I just have a few pictures from the past week to post, and then the blog will be up to date again.

Kingston Online Services seems to be serving me stale versions of the main page of this blog (without the new posts). I hope this page works for everybody else.

Gina sent a long giddy email saying her sister had her baby yesterday afternoon. His name is Dominic Jeremy Randall and he weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces. I guess this makes Peter an uncle!

I had not been by the house for a couple days so the sealing of the drywall in the different rooms might have taken place before today. They also managed to bring in the furnace and the hot water tank. I was amazed how compact the furnace was compare to the beast that use to be in the old house.
